No cars — and time to spare

In Boipeba, cars aren’t part of island life. Bags move by cart or on a shoulder. People walk barefoot on sand. Night silence isn’t a slogan: it’s the absence of engines.

How you move

On foot

The default mode. Velha Boipeba, Boca da Barra and Tassimirim fit in a walk. Bring comfortable flip-flops or sandals that handle wet sand.

Boat / speedboat

For Moreré, Castelhanos, Morro, river oysters, arrival and departure. Boipeba's blue "asphalt".

Quad bike

Shortcut to trails and more distant beaches. On request at Verde e Mar. Useful with children, little appetite for midday sun or luggage.

Tractor / local utility vehicles

On some stretches and in settlements, the tractor acts as improvised shared transport. Ask what is running on your dates.

What this changes about the trip

  • You plan fewer moves per day and enjoy each stop more
  • Tide and sun timing matter more than Waze
  • The body tires differently — and sleeps better
  • Kids gain relative freedom on sand streets (always supervised)

Arriving with luggage

Tell us your landing time. We arrange the meeting and the path to the house. Verde e Mar is 50 metres from the beach: after the crossing, the final effort is short.

Luxury without an accelerator

Pool. Hot tub. Air conditioning. Wine cellar. All of that exists at the house. What does not exist is a garage. And that is exactly right.
