When to go to Boipeba?

Tropical weather year-round. What really shifts is rain, crowds — and the tide, which decides the day of the natural pools.

At a glance

  • September to November — often cited as a sweet spot: more sun, fewer people, pleasant weather.
  • December to March — summer and high season: long, hot days; public holidays and Carnival fill the island.
  • April to July — more chance of rain; sun still breaks through; mild temperatures.
  • All year — average temperatures tend to sit around 25 °C; extremes outside the comfortable range are rare.

Forecasts shift. Check the weather for your week — and the tide table.

The variable that changes everything: the tide

The climate calendar matters. In Boipeba, the tide calendar matters more.

The pools at Moreré (and at Tassimirim and stretches of Boca da Barra) form at low tide. At high tide the place is still beautiful — it just doesn’t deliver the reef “pools”.

Before you book a tour, check that day’s tide table. We align boat and timing with your stay.

High and low season

High (December–February + long holidays and Carnival)

More movement in the village and on the famous beaches. Book ahead — Verde e Mar is one house, one booking at a time.

Shoulder / low (especially Sep–Nov and weeks outside public holidays)

More silence. More space on the sand. A good window for those who want the island even quieter.

Rain does not cancel Bahia

Even in the wetter months, rain usually comes in bursts — and the blue returns. Pack a light rain layer, sunscreen and patience: Boipeba rewards those who do not rush.
