Cueira: long sand, rustic pace

One of the island’s most photographed beaches — and still able to deliver quiet outside peak hours.

What to expect

A long stretch of pale sand, coconut grove and open-toned sea. Cueira sits on the path between Tassimirim and Moreré. The mood is more walk-and-swim than reef-pool: the draw is length and simple beauty, not Moreré snorkel.

In high season and on weekends more people appear, plus the odd stall/restaurant. On a calm day it can feel almost private.

How to get there

  • On foot: continuing the walk from Velha Boipeba / Boca da Barra / Tassimirim (total time depends on pace; plan water and a hat).
  • Quad: common for shortening the route — on request.
  • Boat: possible on coastal itineraries.

Why go

  • Classic Boipeba look: sand + palm + sky
  • Natural stop on the walk toward Moreré
  • Simple beach lunch when a stall is open (options vary)

What not to confuse

Cueira does not replace Moreré for coral natural pools. Those expecting reef snorkelling may be disappointed. Those expecting space and beauty rarely are.

Tip

Pack serious sunscreen and water. Palm shade helps, but Bahian sun doesn’t negotiate. Late afternoon, head back to Verde e Mar: pool, ice, hot tub.
